ICELIE 2026, the IEEE International Conference on E-Learning in Industrial Electronics, is the annual education conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. The conference will be held October 18-21, 2026, in Doha, Qatar, co-located with IECON 2026.
ICELIE 2026 addresses current challenges in engineering education in terms of content development, didactics and technology. The conference emphasizes how education continues to evolve, the ongoing demand for online laboratory work, and the emerging challenge of integrating AI tools into teaching while maintaining professional oversight.
The organizing committee cordially invites high-quality papers representing original work across the following technical tracks:
Assessing Education
Exploring innovative methods for evaluating student learning and program effectiveness, including formative assessments, peer and self-review, competency-based assessments, autograder tools, and metrics for measuring the impact of educational interventions.
AI for Education
Examining the integration of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning — from intelligent tutoring systems and AI chatbots to adaptive learning platforms, generative AI tools, and frameworks for maintaining professional oversight of AI-assisted instruction.
Education, Sustainability and Society
Addressing the role of engineering education in meeting global challenges, including curriculum development for sustainable futures, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches, corporate and lifelong learning, online mentoring, and the social dimensions of access, equity, and inclusion in engineering education.
Educational Technologies
Investigating technologies that transform how engineering is taught and learned, including eLearning systems, virtual and remote laboratories, IoT-enabled lab environments, blended and flipped classroom models, simulation and emulation systems, and immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality.
Open Source for Education
Promoting the development, use, and dissemination of open-source software and open educational resources (OERs) to increase accessibility, collaboration, and innovation — including open-source project assignments, community-driven course materials, and tools that lower barriers to quality engineering education worldwide.
Standards for Education
Developing and advancing new educational standards, frameworks, and best practices that guide the design, delivery, and accreditation of engineering education programmes, ensuring consistency, quality, and relevance across institutions and industries.
Tools and Platforms
Covering practical tools and platforms that support engineering education delivery, including learning management systems, remote and cloud-based laboratory platforms, autograding and assessment tools, collaboration environments, Web 3.0 applications, and platforms for online and distance engineering education.
